I’ve been doing this my whole life. Making art and music. Being around a lot of creative folks and hundreds of local, national and regional collaborations gives me a unique perspective as a professional in the industry. While working on a variety of live recording projects, as well as hundreds of studio credits for artists like Nico Missile, Ju Ju Shrine, Sexy Pig Divas, HUNGR, I’ve made a name for myself in Cleveland at Bad Racket Recording Studio (founded in 2009). With a commercial reel, as well as music credits my creative ability and professionalism is unmatched and cheaper than other douche bags. I have a winning enthusiastic and energetic personality with a creative spark to make your next project unique and colorful. Just listen to some of the albums Iv’ve engineered and you can hear the fearless creativeness and professionalism which helps foster a creative atmosphere where an artist can feel comfortable. The quality of my work speaks for itself. You can take it or leave it.
I began my career studying at the for profit technical recording school known as Conservatory of Recording Arts in Phoenix, AZ. Shortly after graduating and hitting a light-pole in the parking lot without insurance, I quickly threw the bumper in the trunk and left and went to California to abandon science in a mystic quest to search for my spirt animal. On the 7th day a unicorn covered in flame leapt from the sky and bore down a fireball cleansing the hot California sands, after digging out my tires and hastily packing up my camping gear I headed back to Cleveland. From 2009-2013 I worked as a live sound engineer at the Grog Shop, I worked diligently with the artistic community mixing hundreds of local and regional acts, while slowing building my studio setup . I still sometimes do Live sound, but I traded my loud barstool for a comfy studio chair full time in 2013. After testing my entrepreneurial side and patience with partners as a freelance engineer at my own company, I took full control of my life and business and forged my path to becoming one of the major studios in Northeast Ohio. Through focusing on community engagement Bad Racket has become a household name in Cleveland’s music industry. My work has been featured in Pitchfork, Cleveland Scene Magazine, Cleveland.com, and countless other articles and other press coverage, I’m dedicated to making your artistic dreams come true.
With the demand for creative professional recording engineers in Cleveland, I reformatted Bad Racket in 2013 as my own professional dedicated studio setup for professional mixing and mastering in down-town Cleveland. When Im not there working on my latest project, chances are you’ll find me in Collinwood at the Beachland Ballroom or at some other really cool venue.
This isn’t just a job for me, its a lifestyle, and I will never be done learning and creating. This crazy journey has taken me from some of the best shows I’ve ever seen, to recording some of the most amazing music you’ll ever hear, and some of the best people you’ll ever meet. I help the listener capture an emotional experience that connects you as the artist with a similar feeling or memory with a unique sonic signature. I master and mix music at Bad Racket Recording, and craft beer at home, as well as working with wood to make furniture and unique artistic wood projects.
