Who to Trust in the Music Industry

Who to Trust in the Music IndustryDorothy Furface Frog Dog CFO

Listen to your gut IS s part of the music industry and the reality of hollywood, New York, or almost any community. These TERRIBLE people exist and you need to be aware about protecting yourself and reducing risk for you and possibly other people. The abused become abusers, and people can emotionally and mentally abusive you without getting physical. Is someone making you feel BAD all the time? Cut these people out like a cancer. Be the change you want to see in the world. Don’t work for assholes. Tell people if you get a creepy vibe. If word gets around great. Maybe they will try to stop being such a creep.

You Can Choose Who you Side with

Often being nice is the best policy. You can always say no thanks, or NO I can’t i’m busy. You decide how you spend your time and what you want to do. If you aren’t doing what you want to do then change what you are doing. You don’t have to swim with sharks if you don’t want to. There are legitimate sociopaths in the music business world, and in fact these people do well in business. They manipulate, cheat and lie their way to the top. They take the money the maximum amount every time. They tell people to do things that are bad for them, but decisions that benefit them personally for some reason. You might just be another pretty face, or a slave to your internship, but you are little less than a hired money maker and your personal value is little to none, the people at the top just find another person to do it.

This is why people love to work for themselves, and not give their money away to a music manager. What is the value of work that you can do yourself?

Let’s talk about your career.
